Personality: Locke is one of the most lovable and interesting members of the FF6 cast. He's witty, sneaky, and very protective of his friends, particularly Celes and Terra. He calls himself a Treasure Hunter and refuses to be called otherwise ("There's a HUGE difference!"). Despite this, he is truly the proverbial "thief with a heart of gold."
Pre-Game History: Not too much is known about his past save that at one point he was engaged to Rachel of Kohlingen, but she sacrificed herself to save him when a bridge fell out from under him while they were looking for treasure. She didn't die, but she was in a coma for a long time. When she finally came out of it, she didn't remember anything, not even Locke! Blaming him for their daughter's misfortune, Rachel's parents kicked poor Locke out of the house. Heartbroken and blaming himself as well, Locke left Kohlingen, but not for good.
A year later he returned to find that Rachel had been killed in an Imperial raid during his absense. Ironically, in her dying moments she regained her memories and called out for Locke. Devistated that he hadn't been there to protect her when she needed him, Locke eventually joined the Returners so he could get revenge on the Empire. He became one of their top spies, as well as a liason between them and King Edgar of Figaro. Eventually, he was called to Narshe to rescue the so-called "Imperial Witch", Terra. And so the saga begins...
Relationships: Locke has no known family, but from the start he treats Terra like a little sister, despite what some may think. As for Celes, I believe that he really does care about her in spite of his pinings for Rachel. One look at the Opera incident and its aftermath and you know something's going on.
